Right now, Apple’s Vision Pro headset is only available for purchase in the US. Beyond that, the company hasn’t given many clues as to when customers elsewhere will be able to get their hands on the mixed reality device. .
However, one way to read the tea leaves could be to look at Apple’s job postings, and in this regard, we may have gotten a big clue as to when the Vision Pro will go on sale outside of the United States.
How he saw it MacRumors, Apple recently posted job openings for an “Information Experience Specialist” for Vision Pro in Australia, China, and Japan. The job description states that successful applicants will “design and perform demonstrations that present the capabilities of the product and its revolutionary new technology.”
The obvious inference from these job postings is that Apple is preparing to launch Vision Pro in the countries listed, meaning they could be next in Vision Pro availability.
Coming soon?
As expected, the job postings didn’t give any clue as to when the Vision Pro might go on sale worldwide, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it was sooner rather than later. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has previously claimed Apple will expand availability of the product ahead of its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, meaning we could see some movement in the coming weeks and months.
Australia, China and Japan aren’t the only places that have apparently been preparing for Vision Pro. In October 2023, our friends at iMore Discovered a job offer on LinkedIn for another information experience specialist, this time based in the UK. And in early March 2024, MacRumors noticed visionOS code that seemed to hint that the headphones could arrive in other countries relatively soon.
Of course, there’s no certainty about any of these release dates as long as Apple remains silent on the matter. The aforementioned UK job listing appeared in October last year, but we still don’t have any information on a release date, so the latest news from Australia, China and Japan might not mean the headphones are landing there. in the short term.
Still, given the size of the WWDC event, it would be an excellent opportunity for Apple to reveal more Vision Pro announcements to the world. If we still haven’t heard anything by then, people around the world will be impatient.
